Crochet Rug

Ok so I think it was pinterest that inspired this rug I planned to use in front of my sink.

Now clearly I should have been cleaning instead of starting a new project but this is how I roll, I decide I want to do something and I start. This is my daughter Abby helping me. I made aprox 1" cuts along the sheet (I think it was king) and then we ripped it.
I have many loves in my life and this is one of my fur loves Meko.

After ripping all of it which I mistakenly thought would be simple and quick..ha
I then made a cut on both ends and kinda made slip knots with all of it. and rolled as I went.

I rarely work from patterns I just start and see how it goes and adjust when necessary. The down side of this is also not know how much (rag, sheet) does what. At this point I had figured a width I liked and was continuing to the length, unfortunately I realized I would run out. So as I often do I undid a bunch and decided to switch directions to get the length I wanted.

This is the finished rug, its quite soft and purfect for by the sink. I also am happy with the way it looks even though it wasn't what I had originally thought "planned" out.

The down side is it goes missing from its home as my lil love enjoys playing with it.

Crochet'd

I clearly crochet more then I thought and some of these I've followed patterns but I tend to deviate alot or just use others to get a general idea.

My SIL has two Chihuahua's and the littlest one is always shivering, someone had giving them a dog sweater but shes too tiny to fit it. So I decided to make one for her. No pattern, turned out alright.

My MIL said I should make cup warmers so I made her one. I also made this very adjustable so it could really be used on any size cup.

Slippers for the SIL, I really do enjoy making things for others. This is from a pattern and when I find it I shall post it. Best mary jane slipper pattern I've found so far, I decided to add the flower which has a button center to attach the strap too.

I searched forever to find a suitable tea cozy pattern and by that I mean I just wanted something simple

This is one of about five endless scarfs I've made this fall winter, I really like these for myself and to gift they its a really nice pattern and very easy to create.

Knittings

A few knitted things I made over winter.

Head warmer I had initially made for myself but ended up gifting because I have a small head and these things don't stay put :(

Abby's Rug

Once again I bite off more then I mentally prepared for. This rug idea I got from pinterest craftaholicsanonymous.net , actually got this one first and when I went back to find it I came upon the crochet sheet rug. This rug is very easy to make just time consuming.

So with a trip to the fabric store I found some great material in the discount area. Pink, purple, green and yellow. I bought a meter in each as I didn't know how much I would need and off I went cutting 1x5 strips.
What I've learned... Ok so I didn't buy enough and of course when I went back they didn't have it all again so I ended up buy another meter in Pink and yellow that looked the same as the first but then I had to settle with blue instead of purple and for a kicker the green they had was a different size pattern. At this point her rug was about 75% done so I had to go back and incorporate the blue where some of the purple was and also remove some of the other green through out to get the larger pattern in their.... (me shaking my head)
I also found using a dpn ( double pointed knitting needle) to push the fabric through while my other hand remained on the receiving side sped it up immensely.
I started doing almost every hole... not necessary this rug is quite plush I ended up doing two missing one or two and offsetting the next and repeat.

The end product, I think its awesome and Abby loves it as well it sits in front of her bed (daybed) and she loves to sit on it and play.

Our other pooch Thor clearly enjoys the end result as well!

Hullo

So truthfully I don't know much about "bloggin"so bare with me or advise me..lol

I do alot of different crafty things and thought why not put them out their for others to check out as I get inspiration from others perhaps others will from me!
